Dorothy Land

Dorothy "Dot" Byars Land of Macon, GA, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was born in Macon to the late John William Byars and Hattie Bostick Byars and was preceded in death by her husband Hillyer Lamar Land. She is survived by her son Perry Land and daughter Cindi (Ron) Yaun of Macon; grandchildren: Maddie Swift, Anna Yaun and Trey (Christa) Yaun; several nieces and nephews.
She attended Bibb County schools and graduated from Miller High School for Girls. She retired after 25 years as an accounting and finance specialist at RAFB. She was an amazing mom and grandmother and a blessing to those who knew her. She was a faithful member of Ingleside Baptist Church, where she served in the Congregational Care Ministry, as an AWANA leader, secretary of her Sunday School class, and was a member of the Inglelights. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. Her hobbies include visiting others, working crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, and drinking her McDonald's coffee.
A celebration service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Ingleside Baptist Church. The visitation will be held immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
