Mrs. Hopper was born on June 20, 1943, in Montrose, Georgia, to the late Mr. James William Slaughter and Mrs. Gladys Louise Sapp. She devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with care, comfort, and unwavering love. Mrs. Hopper took great pride in nurturing her family and ensuring that those she loved were always surrounded by kindness and support. Her home was not only a place of refuge but also a gathering place where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms.
In her quieter moments, Mrs. Hopper found joy in many simple pleasures. Above all else, Mrs. Hopper treasured her time with her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopper was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elijah Barnett Hopper, Sr. and sister, Dale Slaughter.
