Doris Hood

Doris Ruth Johnson Hood, 89, of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, and joined her loving husband of 74 years, James, in heaven, who passed just one month before her. A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Reverend Cameron Barefield and Reverend Al Soles officiating.
Mrs. Hood was born on February 25, 1932, in West Point, Georgia. She worked most of her life for Keebler Company. Mrs. Hood and her husband were both charter members of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where they attended for over 50 years. She was active as a Sunday School Teacher, in the youth program as well as a choir member. Mrs. Hood was a sweet compassionate woman, who put everyone before herself. Her greatest joy in life came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and later in life, a great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, James Michael Hood (Dixie), Ronald Lewis Hood (Derenda), and Steve Gregory Hood (Eunice). Grandchildren, Jonathan Hood (Marilyn), Brian Hood (Amanda), Marshall Hood (Nichole), Shane Hood (Melinda), Shanelle Wakefield (Kelsey), Josh Hood (Candice), Leigh Ann Churcher (Eric) and Miriam Elizabeth Carroll (Jake). 19 great grandchildren.
