Doris Davis

Doris Jeannette Hinton Davis, 85, of Fort Valley passed away peacefully October 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services to honor her life will be held, Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Burial will be immediately following in New Elim Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Charles Hodnett officiating. The family will greet friends, Friday, October 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Doris loved to cook, especially cooking meals for her family. She was an avid reader and had a way with words like no other. When she was not cooking or reading she enjoyed Gardening, Crochet and Crossword Puzzles. Doris retired from Robins Air Force Base after years of working for the civil service. Above everything Doris was a loving Mother, and Aunt Dot to her many nieces and nephews.
Doris joined her parents, Elmer and Mary Edna Hinton in Heaven along with two brothers, two sisters, and her late husband, Malcolm Davis. Left to cherish her memory is her loving son, Ken Bassett, Three Grandchildren, Lauren Bassett, Alexis McBride, and Peyton Bassett. One Great-Grandchild, Jade Audrey McBride. As well as several Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.
In memory of Doris' love of flowers the family will graciously accept flowers.
