Donnie was born in Milan, Georgia on August 9, 1949, to the late Mr. Alonzo Spires and Mrs. Hazel Beasley. Mr. Donnie honorably served his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, he devoted 39 years to the Robins Air Force Base, where he served as an Electronic Repairman. He and Mrs.Gail attended Mikado Baptist Church. Donnie was a man whose vibrant spirit could brighten anyone's day. With a fishing rod in one hand and a golf club in the other, he cherished every moment spent outdoors with his family. He enjoyed camping also and spent many weekends making as many memories as possible. He poured love and wisdom into his sons, teaching them the joys of the great outdoors and the importance of family. These lessons he instilled in them, helped them develop into who they are today. He took pride in his family, especially his grandchildren. Family was everything to him.
As the family Patriarch, Donnie was a guiding light, weaving together laughter and lessons that would resonate for generations to come. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Gail Spires; sons, Billy Meeks (Angela) and Ronnie Spires (Nathalie); brother, Terry Spires (Linda); sister, Connie Touchton (Buddy); and grandchildren, Griffin (Hannah), Chandler, Brady, and Ruby; and his four-legged baby, Momo.
