Donald Hansel Harrell, 87, of Macon, Georgia passed away surrounded by his loving gals on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bobby Harrell and Mr. Sonny Harrell will officiate the service.
Mr. Harrell was born on July 23, 1936, in Eastman, Georgia to the late Mr. Isaac Slaton Harrell and Mrs. Mary Jane Huff. He was of the Christian faith. Don was outgoing, adventurous, and always on the move. He enjoyed trips to the lake, weekend getaways and a good cruise. Don was a fan of seafood, especially shrimp and crab legs. He loved to fix things, watch westerns, and spend time with his family. Don enjoyed all the things life had to offer. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Harrell; daughter, Julie Harrell; brothers, Ronald Harrell and Jack Myers.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Donna Anne Harrell and Stacy Berkner (Darren); sister, Linda Evans; sister-in-law, JoAnne Myers; grandchildren, Benjamin Rountree (Lauren), Bethany Rosson (Tommy), Breanna Parker (Stephen), Slaton Berkner, Abigail Berkner, Jacob Berkner, and Baylee Berkner; great grandchildren, Coraline Grimes and Odette Grimes; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Georgia Hospice Care for their care and compassion that was shown to their father in the time of his care. They wish to especially thank Robin Spencer.
