On August 17, 2026, Donald “Don” Floyd departed this earth to go home to his Lord and Savior. Above all else, Don’s family and his deep faith were the heart of his life.
Don leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and service. Early in his career he worked in the grocery business for several years and eventually owned his convenience store on Montpelier Avenue. He later transitioned his career path to become a Geotechnical field technician with Preston Testing, where his expertise earned him wide recognition in his field and the lasting respect of contractors throughout Middle Georgia.
An avid sports enthusiast, Don spent many years playing with and coaching D&D softball, traveling across the southeast for tournaments. On any given fall Saturday, he could be found in front of the TV passionately cheering on the Red & Black-Go Dawgs. A man of unwavering faith, Don was a devoted member of Calvary Community Chapel.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over fifty years, Evelyn; his four children, Tammy, David (Vince), Terry, and Keith (Susan); four Grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey), Lacie, Kacie (Robby) and Brittany; one Great Grandchild Evelyn, his sister Iris Guillmette; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday August 29,2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Calvary Community Chapel, 5483 Columbus Rd. Macon, GA 31206
