Donald Edward Dill, Jr, 69, died Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Atrium Health Navicent and Heart Institute with family and friends by his side. He worked at JC Penney for 14 years. He studied at the American Culinary Foundation in Atlanta. He was chef at many local restaurants and later becoming a sales representative at Sysco, and then Performance Food before retiring in December 2023.
He leaves two daughters, Chelsea Lane (Tyler) Courson of Auburn, Georgia and Rebekah Ivey (Tyler) Olney, of Cornelia, Georgia; six grandchildren, Lane, Cutter, Dodger, Rex, Shiloh, and Hazel; three sisters, Donna Dickens of Portland, Tennessee; Phyllis Vanderpool of Spring City, Tennessee, and Carol (Charley) Boatman of Louisville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E, Sr. and Maxileen Goff Dill of Lexington, Tennessee.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Ed's hospital staff, care givers, and friends that supported him through the past difficult months.
There will be a celebration of his life in Macon, Georgia at a later date.
