February 21, 1943 — November 24, 2024
Dona Mae Poole Robinson, 81, of Lizella, Georgia entered into Heaven on Sunday, November 24, 2024. A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Robinson will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ronnie Hollis, Jr., will officiate.
Dona was born in Macon, Georgia on February 21, 1943, to the late Mr. Bennie Ralph Poole and Mrs. Helen Frost Poole. She was an avid volunteer with the Marine Corps League Detachment 970. She enjoyed gardening, sewing quilts that provided an immense amount of comfort to those she loved, and watching hallmark movies and Gunsmoke. This hobby of quilting led her to join Comforting Quilters, where she made many lasting memories and friendships. If you knew Dona, you were familiar with her phrase, "Lord, Have Mercy!" Above all, her family was the light of her life. She was truly a small package of dynamite. Her joyous laugh, infectious smile, and kind heart will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ernest W. Robinson; daughters, Sharron and Sheila Robinson; son, Shannon Robinson; brother, Bennie Poole; and sister Linda Elliott.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Christian (Eva) Robinson of Lizella; daughter, Karla (Michael) Chidester of Byron; sister, Dianne Holmes; brother, Ralph Poole; fur-baby, Toto; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and her loving Marine Corps family and friends.
Ms. Dona doted on flowers and enjoyed the simplicity and joy they brought to her. If you are willing and able, the family graciously asks that you send a flower in her honor to pay tribute to her life during her services.
