Delmar "Pete" Fred Evans
July 9, 1943 — July 18, 2024
Delmar F. Evans, (Pete), 81, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Pastor Cecile Mitchell will officiate.
Delmar was born on July 9, 1943, at Macon Hospital to the late Harold Lewis Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Dunham. He worked at the United States Post Office for 1 year before going to the Robins Air Force Base, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 2004. He honorably served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. Pete was a member of Bloomfield Methodist Church for 60 years. He was a part of the Friendship Bible Class and the Youth Group. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Flanagan Evans; sons, F. Keith Evans (Ginger), Kenneth J. Evans; grandson, Jameson A. Evans; granddaughters, Annamarie and Abbigail; great niece Jie Southerland; great nephew, Daniel L. Barnes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you graciously make donations in Pete's honor to Compassus Hospice; 1100 Northside Crossing Macon Georgia, 31210.
