Mrs. Debra Sue Register Freeman, 72, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Surrounded by the love of those she cherished most, Debra leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Pastor Ted Tedder will officiate all services.
Debra was born on February 28, 1954, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Roscoe Haven Register and Mary Helen Loyd Register. She was a woman with a larger-than-life personality who never met a stranger and never hesitated to help someone in need. Strong-willed, determined, and fiercely protective of those she loved, Debra was affectionately known as a true firecracker. She had a way of making things happen no matter what the circumstance and faced life's challenges with grit, resilience, and an unmatched spirit.
Debra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at her favorite spot at the kitchen table, watching her beloved soap operas, singing karaoke, dancing whenever the opportunity arose, fishing, and searching for treasures while thrift shopping. She took great pride in keeping her porch beautiful with colorful flowers that reflected her vibrant personality.
Above all else, Debra loved her family. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother of boys, a loving grandmother, and an adoring great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She especially loved babies and children, and her home was always a place where family gathered, laughed, and felt welcomed. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love created countless memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil James Freeman, Sr.; brothers, Bud Register and Billy Register; sisters, Barbara (John) Barton and Faye Amos Mitchell; and her precious great-granddaughter, Ava Elaine.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Robbie Hudson, Cecil (Angie) Freeman, Jr., Chuck Freeman, and Shannon Freeman; daughter, Jaedyn Freeman; brother, Luther (Brenda) Register; sisters, Ann (Fred) Tedder and Mary Ogletree; grandchildren, Kaleigh, Haven, Christian, Paige, Jamie, Kayla, Lory, Trevor, Harley, and Casey; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though her family will deeply miss her strong presence, quick wit, and loving heart, they find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, strength, and determination will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her. Debra's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will forever be loved beyond measure.
