Deborah Deedrick

April 24, 1949 — February 25, 2025

Deborah Francine Arthur Deedrick, 75, of Peach County passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Evangelical Church. The family wishes to invite friends to join them for a time of visitation from 11:30 until service time. Pastor Tim Long will officiate the service.

Deborah was born in Ashland, Kentucky on April 24, 1949, to the late Mr. Ernest Arthur and Mrs. Beatrice Smith. Deborah was a beloved and devoted member of First Evangelical Church, where her unwavering faith and love for Jesus shone brightly. She took every opportunity to share the message of salvation, ensuring that everyone she met knew Jesus and the importance of being saved. Her pride in her church and her faith was evident, and if you had a conversation with her, you could be sure she would invite you to join her at church. Deborah was also a talented cook and baker, perfecting her craft over the years and sharing her delicious creations with friends and family. She had a deep love for reading, especially novels, but her most cherished reading was the Bible. She found great joy and peace in immersing herself in God's word. Her professional life was just as passionate as her personal one. After graduating from Ceredo-Kenova High in West Virginia, she pursued higher education, earning an associate's degree from Marshall University in 1970, a bachelor's degree from Kent State in 1987, and a master's degree from the University of Phoenix. For 55 years, Deborah touched countless lives as a nurse, working in various roles including emergency room, public health, kidney dialysis, nurse educator, and home health nurse. Her generous heart was felt in every patient she cared for. One of the family's most cherished memories of Deborah is her thoughtful cards. Whether it was for a special occasion or just because she was thinking of someone, Deborah's cards were always filled with encouragement, love, and kindness, and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Arthur.

Left to cherish her many memories and cards is her devoted husband of 46 faithful years, Stephen Deedrick; between the two, they shared six children, Greg (Tara) Deedrick, Stephen (Valerie) Deedrick, Jr., John (Melinda) Deedrick, Kate Deedrick, Lora (Steve) Zinn, Meg (Dale) Raines; brothers, George (Tracy) Arthur, Carl (Barbie) Coffey; sisters, Robyn (Len) Picha, Candie (Tim) Hamilton; grandchildren, Grace, Grier, Andrew, Jennifer, Kate, Noah; four great grandchildren; special friends, Russ, Leigh and Tyler Montgomery, whom she considered family; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you graciously donate books to Gottwalls Book Store; or one of the following charities, Samaritan's Purse or First Evangelical Church in her honor.

For those who wish to attend but can not be there physically, the family would like to extend an invitation to join them via live stream. The church will have it available on youtube; @fecsound1754.
