David Allen Gabriel, 75, of Macon, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022. A celebration of Mr. Gabriel's life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, May 11, at Riverside United Methodist Church, with Reverend Antonie E. Walker officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at 10:00 AM in the Gathering Space at the church.
Mr. Gabriel was born on September 25, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Calvin A. Gabriel and Esther Dove Gabriel. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Gabriel was a decorated war hero, who served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gabriel was a steel salesman at Triple S Steel, formally known as General Steel, before retiring in 2020 after 47 years with the company. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church as well as several coffee clubs at McDonald's and the Krystal. He spent countless mornings drinking coffee and solving the problems of the world with his buddies. He never met a stranger. Mr. Gabriel was devoted to his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. No doubt he is in Heaven sharing with his coffee club buddies that they missed seeing the Atlanta Braves win the World Series and the Georgia Bulldogs win the Natty.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gabriel was preceded in death by his son, Brian Allen Gabriel; sister, Rebecca Willis; and brothers, Walter Gabriel and Marcus Gabriel.
Left to cherish Mr. Gabriel's memory is his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy Conner Gabriel; sons, Cameron Gabriel (Rachel) and Conner Gabriel; 6 grandchildren, Baylee, Madison, Riley, Weston, Rowan, and Kamden; brothers and sisters in law, Marsha Bloodworth, Judy Fordham, Mike Robinson (Debra) and Carol Stokes (Lynn),Cheryl Shannon, Deidre Cox .; and several nieces and nephews.
