Darrell Eugene Holton, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Darrell was born on August 15, 1943, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. George Eulas Holton and Mrs. Eleanor Marie Jordan. Out of college, he went on to pursue a career with JM Huber as a Research Analyst. He later retired after 30 years of service. He ran 1 term as a City Counselman before successfully served two terms as the Mayor for the city of Jeffersonville, and served many years as a volunteer firefighter for Twiggs County. In his free time, he took up an interest in antiques and expressed his love for them by running the Antique Store. Darrell most recently worked for the Bibb County Sheriff's Department where he was currently still employed. He handled the procurement of the County Jail. Darrell also enjoyed the outdoors and the simplicity that came from it. He could be found camping, hunting, fishing or golfing. A true joy of his was when he was cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs or watching a Nascar race. Above all, his family was the light of his life. He cherished each of them dearly. Darrell will be missed immensely.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his siblings, George, Jr., Jimmy and Neil.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years, Pam Holton; sons, Dusty, John (Mylinda), Drexel (Lisa), Matt (Alicia), Gavin (Charmian); stepchildren, Jamey (Angela) Huser and Melissa (David) Denson; sister, Carolyn Holton Shelton; 16 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of many nieces, nephews.
