Danny Joe Kelly, Jr.
August 10, 1961 — August 9, 2024
Danny Joe Kelly, Jr., of Crawford County, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 9, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home where military honors will be rendered. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Wayne Lendermen will officiate the service.
Mr. Danny was born on August 10, 1961, in Ashlyn, Kentucky to the late Mr. Danny Joe Kelly, Sr. and Mrs. Sandra Carroll Kelly. Joe faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged. He was a devoted and hardworking Industrial Equipment Specialist for Robins Air Force Base before retiring.
He attended Church in the Orchard where he created many lasting friendships. One thing about Joe, he never met a stranger. If you ran into him in public, you would probably be greeted with, "Has anyone told you today, that God loves you?" He spent countless hours devoting his time to spreading the Goodness of God to those he crossed paths with. We firmly believe he was greeted with, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and experiencing new parts of the world with his four-legged friend, Earl.
Joe was a true friend to have. He always thought very highly of his circle of friends and would give the shirt off his back for any of them. They cherished many memories over the 30+ years of friendship they shared. Above all, his family was the light of his life. He was very proud of them and loved them dearly. His crooked grin, infectious laugh, and caring heart will forever be missed until we meet him again.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his daughter, Jamie (Justin) Powers; close friend, Mary Kelly; mother and step-father, Gary and Sandra Watts; brother, David (Daniel) Kelly; sister, Cindy (Jeff) Bennett; and grandchildren, Lilah, Penelope, Carson, Rohan, and Scarlett.
