Curtis Cooper
July 13, 1965 — May 2, 2025
Curtis Lee Cooper Sr., 59, of Dry Branch, Georgia, passed away peacefully Friday May 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. Services to honor his life may be held at a later date.
Mr. Curtis Sr. was born July 13, 1965, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mrs. Mable Ruthie Knight. He lived a life full of heart, humor, and hands-on skills. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in the quiet of the woods while hunting, the peace of the water while fishing, and the freedom of simply being outside. Curtis had a gift for fixing just about anything whether it had an engine, a leak, or a loose bolt, he could make it right again. His talents as a mechanic were matched only by his generous spirit; he was always the first to lend a hand, even if he grumbled while doing it. Known for his stubborn streak, Curtis wore it with pride, but behind that tough exterior was a kind soul with sharp wit and a constant joke ready to make someone smile. He filled every space with laughter, honesty, and a deep sense of care. He also took great joy in the simple pleasures of life smoking a cigarette and sipping hot coffee, often while watching the world go by with a quiet grin. His legacy is one of strength, service, and a life well-lived doing what he loved.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother James Cooper.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Curtis (Casey) Cooper Jr., Kevin Roberts; daughters, Casey (Charles) Cooper, Desirae Cooper, Destinee (Kevin) Cooper; Sister, Jean Cooper; grandchildren, Mckennah Cooper, Kinlee Cooper, JJ Rodriguez, Sophia Rodriguez, Ava Rodriguez, Benjamin Holloway, Amara Holloway, Amelia Cooper, Steven West; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
