Clifton Harold Bell, 80, died at his residence on August 19, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born October 4, 1939 in Bullitt County, Kentucky, the son of Harley and Ricci Bell. Cliff served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. After leaving the Army he went to work for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. in Louisville, KY. It was at B&W he met his wife of nearly 47 years, Joyce Ann Bell. He moved to Macon, GA in 1981 and retired from B&W after 30 years of service. Cliff was a quiet man who was a friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Bell, sisters, Virginia Cotton and Normalene Dennison, son-in-law, Michael Zwally, and grandson, Charles Wentling.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Bell, of Byron; brother Randle Bell (Dona) of KY; daughters, Karen Cox (Wayne), Kimberly Pelt (Keith), Kathy Smith (George), and Bridget Wentling; seven grandchildren, Doug Cox, Stephanie Lee Brown, Crystal Hammack, Lynnea Zwally, Erika Stephens, Shane Smith, and Sarah Wentling. Cliff was blessed with 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Richard Williams will preside. The family will receive visitors at 538 Bobbie Circle, Byron, GA 31008. Due to COVID-19 masks will be required at the graveside service and at the residence. The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Pointe Hospice (Yvonne Singleton) for their wonderful care and compassion during this difficult time.
