Clara Florine Jordan, 80, of Byron, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of those she cherished most.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Clara’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Lighthouse Community Church. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Pastor Ricky Tidwell will officiate all services.

Clara was born on November 25, 1945, in Lizella, Georgia, to the late Mr. Richard Harry Hunnicutt and Mrs. Florine Bodrey Simmons. Clara lived life with a spirit that could never be duplicated. She was enigmatic, fierce, selfless, and wonderfully unique in every way. Those who knew her quickly learned that she was full of personality and unforgettable sayings that became part of her legacy. Whether she was excitedly declaring, “Let’s Boot Scoot and Boogie,” reminding everyone with “This, That, and All That Jazz,” or lovingly correcting the younger generation with her familiar phrase, “You Gotta Come Back,” Clara had a way of leaving an impression and creating moments that became treasured memories.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, camping under the open sky, casting a fishing line into the peaceful waters of Lake Sinclair, sharing laughter with family, and dancing whenever she had the chance. Clara loved gathering around a table filled with good food and never turned down a sweet treat, especially her beloved Cosmic Brownies. Above all else, Clara loved her Lord and centered her life around faith, family, and creating lasting memories with those she held dear.

Family was Clara’s greatest accomplishment and deepest joy. Her love was unwavering, and she gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly to those around her. She created a home full of stories, laughter, strength, and unforgettable traditions that will continue for generations.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly forty years, Larry Jordan, and all of her siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James (Annie) Yaughn and Tony (Ruth) Jordan; daughter, Trina (Charles) Bean; grandchildren, Crystal (John) Bean, Daryl (Allyssa) Bean, Brayden White, Dell (Regina) Dukes, Michael (Rebecca) Dukes, Alexis Quinn, Harley Quinn, Brandy (Karen) Quinn, Christopher Yaughn, Marie (David) Hughes, Abby Landry, Alec White, Sam (Zac), and Amber (Josh) Baxter; nine great great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Though her earthly journey has ended, Clara’s sayings, laughter, strength, and love will continue to echo through the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is now reunited with those who went before her and resting in the presence of the Lord she faithfully loved.
