Christy Melvin

Christy LaNelle Carr Melvin, 51, passed away on Tuesday, October 19,2021. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in Glen Haven Cemetery with a visitation following the service.
Christy was born on July 18, 1970, in Macon, Georgia to Jimmy and Christine Carr, Sr. As a child, teenager, and young adult she was an active member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. She graduated from Gilead Christian Academy with the Class of 1988. South Macon Boys Baseball and Girls Softball Park was a second home to her family and her. Christy loved and cared for all types of animals. She was known for her above and beyond efforts of fostering and sheltering all types of homeless animals. Christy loved fishing! One of her most memorable fishing adventures involved becoming Cathy's greatest catch when Christy became hooked in the back of the head with Cathy's hook. No one enjoyed household cleaning and organizing as much as Christy. She found a strong sense of accomplishment when completing these tasks for others and herself.
Christy was greeted in Heaven by her loving grandparents: Donovan and Eulala Carr, Mary Catherine Reed, and George Savage; many aunts and uncles; along with her nephew, Bryan Hall Carr.
Those who remain to cherish and carry on her memories are her parents, Jimmy and Christine Hall, Sr; her three loving sons: Brandon Melvin (Macon, GA), Chase Carr (Macon, GA), Chandler Jameson Carr (Pelham, AL); grandson: Braylen Lee Melvin; sister: Cathy (Gary) Helmuth (Cumming, GA); brother: Jimmy (Jay) Hall (Christine) Carr, Jr (Pelham, AL); nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
