Charles Yeatman

Charles William (Bill) Yeatman, 83, of Warner Robins passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11 AM at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 1708 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins with Father Scott Petersen officiating.
Bill grew up in Crossett, AR, where he attended Crossett High School and was a Crossett Eagle football athlete. He was an Eagle Scout and a Boy Scout camp water instructor. Bill later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. In 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Jane Bell, with whom he raised three children. He graduated with a BSE from the University of Central Arkansas in 1959. Bill had a long career as a recreation professional. He worked for the YMCA and Fort Root Veterans Hospital, and later served as Youth Director with Pulaski Heights Methodist Church. From 1963 through 1996 Bill worked as a civil servant with the Department of the Air Force at diverse locations, including: Little Rock Air Force Base (Jacksonville, AR), Hickam AFB (Honolulu, HI), Goose AFB (Labrador, Canada), Ellsworth AFB (Rapid City, SD), Bitburg AFB (Bitburg, Germany), and Robins AFB (Warner Robins, GA).

Bill was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman, as a well as a lover of dogs, birds, Nature and books. For more than 15 years, he was an active member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, serving on the vestry and as an usher. He also volunteered for the food pantry and contributed to the maintenance of the church grounds. He is survived by Becky Yeatman, his loving wife of 61 years, son Russell William, daughters June Katherine and Jaehn Clare, as well as grandsons Joshua John, Justin Lee, Jason Keathley, Joseph Milton and their progeny, grandson Mark Russell, and nieces and nephews across the country.

Bill will be deeply missed, his memory will be long-cherished, and the community of Warner Robins is significantly diminished by his passing.

FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church (1708 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA, 31093, ph: 478-923-1791) or the donor's preferred charity, in memory of Bill Yeatman.
