Charles Lindsey

May 28, 1928 — March 16, 2017

Charles Elliott Lindsey, 88, of Macon, passed away peacefully March 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon. All other funeral services will be private.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Charles was the son of the late Peter Charleston and Ruby Harn Lindsey. He was a graduate of Lanier High School for Boys. Upon graduation, Charles joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country for three years. He retired from Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as an Electronic Technician. Charles enjoyed repairing anything he had an opportunity to fix, especially cars and lawn equipment. He also enjoyed wood working, fishing, and racing carts. When his health allowed, he was active in a number of churches.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years and mother of his children, Betty Y. Lindsey, as well as his parents and siblings, Jack Lindsey and Helen Hurley.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Eloise Lindsey, children: Terry Lindsey (Sharon), Lynward Lindsey (Holly), Marcia Segler (Glen), Wanda Jester (Dan Kelly), and Cindy Durden (Al). Ten grandchildren: Aaron Lindsey (Laura Collins), Jennifer Strickland (John Paul), James Thigpen, Kelly Trotter (Doyle), Lindsey Jones, Will Jester (Ellie Barbee), Katie Jester, Joseph Dukes (Emmalee Albritton), Cody Durden (April Dent) and Courtney Gilley (Josh Blake) ,great-grandchildren, and two siblings: Craig Lindsey and Kay Spinks.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations please be made to Special Olympics Georgia/ Bibb County, 4000 DeKalb Technology Parkway Suite 400, Building 400, Atlanta, Georgia 30340.
