Charles "Chuck" Edward Huffman

Charles “Chuck” Edward Huffman, 81, of Lizella, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The family will greet friends on Friday, November 7, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Immediately following the family will share stories and memories as a celebration of Mr. Huffman's life.

Mr. Huffman was born on April 19, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Florence and Ambrose Huffman. Chuck graduated from Louisville Male High School where he played football. After high school he attended Sullivan Business College. He worked for Corhart Refractories. He started with Brown and Williamson in 1966. He and his family moved to GA in 1980 with Brown and Williamson. He retired from Brown and Williamson, after 33 years of service, where he worked as maker operator. Mr. Huffman's favorite pastime was bowling, a sport he truly loved and devoted much of his life to. He was well known and highly respected throughout the Middle Georgia bowling community, where he served in various capacities over the years, including as league president. He was also over the youth program at Gold Cup in Macon. His leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication left a lasting impression on fellow bowlers and friends alike. Beyond his local leagues, Mr. Huffman's passion for the game took him across the country, where he proudly competed in tournaments in numerous states, forming lasting friendships and cherished memories along the way. Chuck also liked fishing and camping with family. He also loved decorating his front yard for Christmas, using so many lights it would trip the breakers.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his brothers: Howard Gene, Ambrose Lee and sisters Beverly June and Barbara Jean.

Left to cherish Mr. Huffman's memory are his wife of 59 years, Joyce Ann Lawson Huffman; children, Kimberly Chalker (Randy), Katherine Huffman, and Kevin Huffman (Jennifer); grandchildren, Christopher Chalker (Lindsay) Katelyn Chalker, Michael Lee Gosnell Jr., Rebecca Gosnell, Matt Huffman; great grandchildren Jun, Adalynn, Landon, Jayden, Paizlee and Avi; sister-in-law Sue Huffman and many nieces and nephews.
