Charles "Chuck" Herb, 89, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 8, 2024. The family will have a memorial service on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 12 noon. The family will welcome guests one hour prior to service time. Immediately following the service, Mr. Herb will be laid to rest with his wife, at Georgias Veteran Memorial Cemetery, where Military honors will be rendered. Pastor Johnny Baggett will officiate the services.
Chuck was born in Macon, Georgia on March 28, 1935, to the late Mr. James Herb and Mrs. Ella Ryles Herb. He was the Patriarch of his family. Chuck was a simple man that enjoyed movies, books and westerns. He was especially a fan of a good horror movie, action movie or a sci-fi one. Chuck was a proud army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He attended New Elim Baptist Church and devoted much of his time to his bible. Above all, his family was the light of his life. He was truly the glue that held his family together, and he will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, of 50 Years, Linda; four brothers, and one great- great grandchild.
Left to carry on his legacy and cherish his memories forever is his son, Donald (Dianne) Herb; daughters, Karen (Steve) Farmer, Kathy (George) Montez, Kim (Clay) Pefferkorn; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
