Charles M. Grant

Charles M. Grant, 73, of Macon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Services to honor his life will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, at 1:00 p.m., burial to follow at Macon Memorial Park. Elder Garry Hall will officiate. The family will have a time of visitation at the funeral home on Friday, March 9, 2018 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Mr. Grant was born to the late William Russell and Ethel Mullis Grant. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Denton. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 40 years, Mrs. Joan Anderson Grant. He also leaves behind four sons: Russ Grant (Tonya), Donald Grant (Pam), Edmund Grant (Marsha) and John Grant (Maria), as well as a brother David Russell Grant, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was not only a loving and wonderful husband, father and "Poppy", he devoted 25 years to the Macon Police Department from which he retired as Lieutenant. He then spent ten years with Allstate Bonding Company. He was a member of Local and State "PBA" and "FOP" as well as a Deacon at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. Grant was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
