Carol Connor Hardy, 83, of Macon, Georgia passed away Monday, July 17, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Forest Baptist Church. A burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Born in Macon, she was the daughter of the late Saxon Anderson Connor and Katharyne Galley Connor. Carol was a much loved "surprise" baby, the third of three girls. She loved swimming and diving and was a Red Cross Safety Instructor. She married her sweetheart, Kenny, when she was 17.
After her children were born, she quit working outside the home and became a homemaker. She was a Christian and attended Pine Forest Baptist Church where she has been a member since 1963. She was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She cherished her Sunday School friends and their motto was her favorite Bible verse. "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." Phil 4:13
Early on she volunteered in the nursery at church and later was very involved in the Windsor Academy Booster Club. She was trained and volunteered answering phones and counseling for Crisis Line. Carol's personality drew people in and made it easy for them to talk to and confide in her. After her children were grown, she became a certified aerobics instructor and taught senior chair aerobics at her church. Carol loved and was involved in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where she served as a greeter.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Reid Hardy, children, Kenneth Reid Hardy Jr., and Leigh Ann Long (Tim); Grandchildren, Luke Hardy, Dallas Long (Naomi), Brittany Hardy and Lauren Johnson (Joshua) and ten great grandchildren.
