Carol Braswell Dunn, 83, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026. A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Dunn will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Josh Gale will officiate all services.
Carol was born on February 24, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Mr. Nathan Harold Braswell and Mrs. Myrtle Edenfield Braswell. From an early age, Carol learned the value of hard work and family. At just 13 years old, she began helping her mother at the family’s Handy Variety Store, where she developed the dependable work ethic and warm personality that would define her throughout her life.
Carol was proud of her education, attending Asbury College before transferring to Mercer University. She later built a long and dedicated career at Warner Robins Air Force Base, where she faithfully served for 34 years before retiring.
Carol had a joyful spirit and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling and especially treasured trips to the beach, with Panama City Beach holding a special place in her heart. She also enjoyed browsing yard sales and estate sales, always on the lookout for a unique treasure. Carol was known for her kindness, dependability, and infectious laughter. She was a woman who carried hopes and dreams throughout her life and shared joy freely with those around her.
Above all, Carol loved her family and friends dearly. Her home and heart were always open, and the memories she created with those she loved will be cherished for generations.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Emory Braswell.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her daughters, Wendy (Bob) Rozier and Elaine Ard; her sister, June Sallee; her grandchildren, Dustin (Beth) Rozier, Tyler Ard, and Garrytt Ard; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Carol’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and devotion to family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
