Carmen Rodriguez
December 31, 1969 — August 16, 2024
Carmen Consuelo Rodriguez of The Bronx, New York, became an ancestor of strength that we'll carry in our hearts forever on August 16th, 2024 in Macon, Georgia.
Carmen was born on November 17th, 1980, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico to Jose Manuel Rodriguez and Ramona Mercedes Rodriguez Rosario. Carmen, at the age of 3, and her mother moved to The Bronx, New York. She became a parent before the age of 20 to 2 daughters but also received her associates degree in business at this time. Nearly a decade later she birthed 2 beautiful sons. Her children were her world. They had a tight knit relationship during their youth, even calling the 5 of them "The Fab 5." Her life revolved around them even as they grew in age. She was a strong willed passionate woman that loved hard. Regardless of her firm exterior, on the inside she was a delicate flower that loved to nurture those who loved her, with kindness and generosity. Although never taking the passion seriously, she was an amazing writer and the words she's written to her children will live on forever in their minds and hearts. She was the best mother she could be, given the unfortunate series of events that played out in her life.
Through all of her life hardships all she wanted was for her children to be great and do great things. She'll be remembered by her beauty, her humor, her resilient heart, her uplifting words and her strong pursuit of success. She was a loving mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, and an aunt.
She is preceded in death by, her father José Manuel Rodriguez and grandmother Maria Consuelo Rosario.
Left to cherish her memory and live on in her honor are her loving children and grandchildren. Taniah Jackson, her eldest daughter, a soon to be CMA and a mother to Carmen's granddaughter Aaliyah. Chantel Jackson, her second born and a soon to be college graduate. Shawn Bass Jr., a loving husband and a father to Carmen's granddaughter Armani. And Xavier Bass, her youngest son, a soon to be high school graduate and a future engineer.
