Carl Benjamin McDaniel, Sr. was born Feb, 28, 1940 in Tampa FL. and died Feb, 7, 2021 in Macon, Ga. He was the son of Henry Gregory McDaniel and Edith Rosetta Young McDaniel. His Maternal grandparents were Joel Benjamin Young and Mary Ann Elizabeth Willis. His Paternal grandparents were George T. McDaniel and Josie Loyd McDaniel.

Carl was predeceased by his son, Carl (Chucky) McDaniel, Jr, and brothers Charles Alton Durham, Henry Leon McDaniel, Robert L. McDaniel and Johnny Gregory McDaniel.

Carl is survived by his wife, Margie Hammack McDaniel and son, Michael Bruce McDaniel (Amanda Carroll McDaniel) and two grandsons, James Ethan Bradley McDaniel and Cooper Aidan Patrick McDaniel, one sister, Judy McDaniel Lewis, two brothers, David Allen McDaniel (Lori) and Raymond Earl McDaniel (Michelle), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carl was born in Tampa, FL but he lived most of his life in Macon, GA. He served in the United States Navy for 10 years. He was stationed on the submarine tender USS Howard Gilmore, the destroyer USS Fiske, and the carriers USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the USS Lexington. While on the USS Fiske, he was on a tour of Southeast Asia including Vietnam. Carl was a deacon at Pine Forest Baptist Church and a member of the Joyful Journey Sunday School Class. He was the owner of Tobesofkee Cabinet Co. in Macon, Georgia from 1975-2011.

Funeral services honoring Carl's life will be held on Friday, February 12, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with Reverend Morgan Kerr and Pastor John Mark Cooling officiating. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings will be required at all services.
