Robert "Bobby" Frederick Whitehurst, age 86, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on July 26, 2025. Born on November 1, 1938, to Frederick Barnwell Whitehurst and Imogene Hodges Whitehurst, Bobby lived a full life rooted in family, passion, and hard work.
A retired motorcycle mechanic, Bobby was known for his deep love of motorcycles—both fixing and riding them. He was a proud member of the American Motorcycle Association and rarely missed a chance to share his enthusiasm for two wheels. Bobby also enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. In quieter moments, he found joy in watching old westerns and spending time with those he loved.
Bobby served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Sarah Francis "Sally" Bishop Whitehurst, as well as his brother, Larry Whitehurst.
Bobby is survived by his two daughters, Jerri Hall (Terry) and Jena Derzi (Kelly); his sister, Dorothy Garrison; three grandchildren, Heather Harris (Randall), Jamie Churchwell (Ben), and Reid Derzi; and one great-grandchild, Hale Churchwell.
Bobby's legacy of mechanical skill, loyalty to his family, and love for life's simple pleasures will long be remembered by all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, services will be private.
