Billy A. Shumate, 78, of Macon, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, after a long battle with COPD. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19, at 2:00 PM in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Shumate was born on September 14, 1943, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Amon Henry Shumate and Mary Lee Spires Shumate. He retired from Inland Container after 35 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working in his garden. He loved his family and they adored and loved him.
Mr. Shumate is survived by his wife of 57 years, Welda; two sons, Scott (Angela) and Craig; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ronda), Abby, and Ally; and one great-granddaughter, Railyn.
