William "Billy" Franklin Cooper, 95, of Lizella, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 30, 2024. A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Thursday, October 3, at 1:00 PM at Pulaski-Bleckley County Memorial Gardens, 1081 GA-26 West, Cochran, GA 31014, with Pastor, Ed Chambless officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 2, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooper was born on August 17, 1929, on the Pulaski-Bleckley County line to the late Mr. Vance Cooper and Mrs. Myrtice Allen Cooper. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was military police. Mr. Cooper retired from the Local 72 Steam Fitters Union in Atlanta, where he served as the oldest living member. He was formerly a member of Mikado Baptist Church and was a current member of Lizella Baptist Church. Mr. Cooper was a jack of all trades that could fix or build anything and everything. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard in pristine condition. Above all else, Mr. Cooper loved his family and will be missed by all the knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Fay Howard Cooper; sons, Tony Cooper and Ronnie Lynn Cooper; and grandson, Lynn Cooper.
Left to cherish, Mr. Cooper's memory are daughters, Judy Coody Wehrenberg (George) and Amanda Cooper Royal (Donald); sons, Tim Cooper (Charlene) and Billy Coody; grandchildren, Rebecca Layfield, Izabella Royal, Tim Cooper, Jr. (Angelica), Paul Cooper, Mindy Cooper Plank (Michael), Jennifer Schales (Dustin), Tara Cooper Dean (Josh), Tyler Cooper (Michelle), and Chrystal Dorsey; step-grandchildren, Keli Wehrenberg, Cody Wehrenberg and Austin Royal; great-grandchildren, Timothy Angel Cooper, Landon Plank, Remilee Plank, Starr Cooper, Bella Cooper, Emily Dean, Abby Dean, Cadan Schales; step-greatgrandchild, Jeremy Wehrenberg; sisters, Carolyn Arnold and Shirley Hood (Charles); brothers, Donald Cooper (Ellen) and Sonny Cooper; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
