It is with both heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we remember the life of Janane, who passed on July 24, 2025. She was born January 30, 1947. She was 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Roz Howard; mother, Myra Percival; stepfather, Bill Percival; her brothers, Randy and Todd Howard; and a sister, Mae Percival.
She touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the epitome of love, laughter, and Southern charm. As a retired caregiver at Pine Point Hospice, she spent her life offering comfort and support to others, helping families navigate some of their hardest days.
Her free spirit and love for life lit up every room she entered. She danced to the beat of her own drum, and whether she was rocking bedazzled purses, her favorite cowboy boots, or a fun splash of color in her hair, she always carried herself with a unique sense of style that brightened the world around her.
She was a woman who made a lasting impression. She was full of wit, humor, and a heart that was bigger than you could imagine. Her concern for the happiness of her family, especially her "babies," was at the forefront of her mind, and her journal entries often mentioned her heartfelt prayers for their well-being.
Above all, Janane was a mother at her core. She cherished her children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and beloved dogs, and being a mom was, by far, her most treasured role.
Her love for whimsical treasures, like her collection of Disney items (especially Eeyore), dolls, and purses, was a reflection of her playful, maximalist spirit. Her boot collection alone would give Dolly Parton a run for her money. She could have been a model for a magazine, she was so insanely beautiful, but it was her sparkling personality that made her truly unforgettable.
She also journaled about how she loved hanging her clothes on the line, looking up at the sky, and talking to Jesus, just like her daddy had taught her. Janane's legacy is one of light, love, and boundless warmth.
Left to carry on her legacy are her husband of 54 years, Kerry Pilcher; her son, Bodie (Kim) Pilcher; daughter, Mandy (Kelly) Marsh; her brothers, "Little Roz" Howard, Craig (Cindy) Howard, Eddie (Kathy) Percival; and sister, Cheryl (Keith) Jackson. Her grandchildren, Amanda (Jacob) Byram, Ashley (Kyle) Powell, Austin Kittrell, Alanna (Steven) Jenson, Harley (Wil) Herrington, and Hannah Marsh, including her bonus grandson, Carter Mitchell. Her great-grandchildren, Brodeigh and Bentley Byram, Kymber Powell, Everly Herrington, and Stevie Jenson. And her beloved dogs, Boz and Axle. Several extended family members and many friends.
As we remember her, we invite you to come celebrate her life in a way that would make her proud. Wear your brightest, most colorful outfits, bring the sparkles and glitter that she so loved, and let's honor her in a way that reflects the joy she brought to each of us.
We will miss her more than words can express, but we know that her love will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
