Bettye Matthews

Bettye Barber Matthews, 85, of Warner Robins, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 19, 2019. Aservice to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Parkway Memorial Gardens . Pastor Andy Cook will officiate.
Bettye was born on July 23, 1933 to the late Ernest and Novella Barber. Bettye devoted her time to making a home for her family and took great pride in raising her daughters.
She loved to sew, garden, cook, and made the best chocolate and sour cream pound cakes. In her free time, Bettye enjoyed reading, watching westerns, and spending time with her Great Grandson Aiden and little dog Zoie. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to all her knew her. Bettye was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed many happy times with her Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Andrew Matthews.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; Daughters Sharon Matthews and Debra Howell, Grandchildren Matt Howell and Heather Dye (Tobey), and Great Grandchild Aiden Dye. Along with two Siblings Jean Tucker and Jack Barber (Georgia), and other extended family.

Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made in Bettye's honor to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
