Betty Joyce Moncrief Rowell, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on January 16, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Roberta Evangelistic Church, 50 Lowe Rd, Roberta, GA. Services to celebrate her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Baker officiating. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Rowell will be laid to rest in Roberta City Cemetery.
Mrs. Rowell was born on December 13, 1946, in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Morris Moncrief and Willie Cla Hollis Moncrief Myrick. She worked most of her life as a paralegal and began her career working for Georgia Federal in Macon and later for Kobb, Peavy and Connor Law firm before becoming self-employed. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear where she enjoyed volunteering, but she currently attended First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. In her free time, she liked to read, and had a love for all flowers. Her greatest joy in life came from her family, and spending time with them. They were truly the light of her life. Mrs. Rowell was married to the love of her life William Hugh Rowell for 54 wonderful years. Together they made a great team, and their legacy will forever live on through their family.
Mrs. Rowell was greeted in heaven by her Lord and Savior, as well as her parents and loving husband, William Hugh Rowell.
Left to cherish her memory is her family. Children; William B. Rowell and Janis Rowell Ellington (Toby). Grandchildren; William Justin Rowell, Eva Breze Marie Rowell and William Daniel Rowell. Four great grandchildren and siblings; Gary Moncrief (Ruth), Jimmy Moncrief (Joyce), Carolyn Westbery (Paul), Kay Cody (Randy) and Sharon Skipper (Gaylon) as well as many nieces and nephews.
