Betty S. Pritchett, a cherished resident of Byron, Georgia, passed away peacefully in her home on March 14, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on September 25, 1931, in the small town of Vienna, Georgia, Betty lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love, family, and creativity.
Betty was a mother who found strength in caring for the people she loved in a very unique way. Whether she was working in the yard , doing ceramics, or crocheting something special for a family member- her hands were rarely still. Each piece she made carried a bit of her spirit—thoughtful, detailed, and full of care.
She had a lively and spirited personality, with a playful sense of sass that kept those around her smiling. Betty had a way of saying exactly what was on her mind, often with a twinkle in her eye, leaving lasting impressions and plenty of stories her family will treasure forever.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, listed in order of oldest to youngest: Gary Eugene Joyner, Marcia Dianne Bagley, Teresa (Donald W.) Stein, and Cynthia “Cindy” Bradshaw (Caregiver).
Betty’s legacy lives on through her 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom carries a piece of her love and spirit forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William O. Stewart and Inez Stewart; her beloved husband, Charlie Pritchett; and two grandchildren, Brittany Amber Stein and Brad Thomaston. Her family finds peace in imagining her reunited with those she has missed for so long.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia, on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel.
Though she is no longer with us, Betty’s love for fish, laughter to jokes, and unmistakable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished.
