Betty Jane Elder Miller, 93, of Lizella, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Joe McDaniel will officiate. The family graciously asks that in lieu of flowers or donations, memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Georgia; 866 Mulberry Street Macon, Georgia 31210.
Ms. Miller was born in Macon, Georgia on September 28, 1930, to the late Mr. Elwyn Glenn Elder and Mrs. Lillie Grace Stallings. She lived in Macon, Georgia since childhood, moving to Gordon, Georgia with her husband and later when he retired, moved back to Macon. She was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School in Macon, Ms. Miller worked at the Credit Bureau of Macon for a short while and then worked as a Physician Assistant with Dr. Charles G. Burton for many years before retiring. She and Mr. Miller were members of Ingleside Baptist Church where they faithfully attended for many years together. Mrs. Betty was devoted to her Sunday School class, Fidilis and cherished the time they spent together dearly. She was in the Bridge Club of Macon, and a former volunteer with Hospice of Central Georgia. Ms. Miller enjoyed decorating her house, arranging flowers and playing Bridge.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Edward Miller who passed away in 2008; and a son, Steve Miller who passed away in 1994.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan Miller Cardin of Lizella; four grandchildren, Stephanie Smith, Stuart Smith, Jennifer M. McMenemy and Bethany M. Slocum; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several cousins.
