Betty Avera

Betty S. Avera, 86 of Macon, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Hollis Jr. and Pastor Charles Osborne will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. till service time in the funeral home.
Born in Macon, She was the daughter of the late George and Josie Walton Sorrels. She was a member of the Evangelistic House of Prayer and was a retired clerk for Macy's. She was the beloved daughter in law of the late Leonard E. Avera Sr. and Ruby Holland Avera.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Donald Stokes, Brothers, William E. Sorrels and Clarence Eugene Sorrels, Sisters, Gladys Sorrell and Lois Luckie. and Brother-in-law; Carlton Jones
She is survived by her husband, Leonard "Bud" Avera , Son, Mike Avera, daughter, Lisa Gharebaghi (Mort), Grandsons, Jahan and Joshua Gharebaghi and granddaughter, Kristle Chalos and Heather Lynn . Great-grandchildren; Etta, Kab, and Harrison Chalos. Sisters, Jackie Jones and Shirley Horne( Tommy).
