Barbara Kay Kendrick

Barbara Kay Bishop Kendrick, passed away peacefully June 1, 2026 in Cumming, Georgia where she spent her final days surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was born June 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida to Stewart Bland Bishop and Lucille Bishop (later Lucille Cardell). She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, now Riverside High School where she was a member of the Glee Club. She also enjoyed running track, swimming, dancing and playing the piano. On May 11, 1956 she married William Howard (Buddy) Kendrick and together they brought five children into the world. Barbara and Buddy moved around the southeastern portion of the United States until they settled in Macon, Georgia 1975.

She was a devoted homemaker and mother for many years. Later in life, she became a dedicated member of the Ladies of the Nile and Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America where she enjoyed many years of service and fellowship.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Kendrick, her parents Stewart Bishop and Lucille Cardell, her infant son Stephen Howard Kendrick and granddaughter Jennifer Hubbard. Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children: Anita Perez- Studdard (Hank d. 2021), Julie McLendon (Tom), Keith Kendrick (Teresa), and Kevin Kendrick (Beth) and 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Barbara’s visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, June 6, 2026 at FairHaven Funeral Home at 4989 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Macon, GA 31216 with the service immediately afterward. A small interment ceremony will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens for family.
