Barbara "Jean" Williams Burton, 81, of Perry, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024. A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. A private interment will take place at Andersonville National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Mr. Hobert Burton.
Mrs. Jean was born on November 2, 1942, in Tennille, Georgia to the late Mr. Grady Daniel Williams and Mrs. Ella Mae Wilcher. She attended Oglethorpe Baptist Church until her health no longer allowed her too. She continued exemplifying her servant's heart by gathering with local churches and nursing homes to provide "Walker Bags" to those who needed them. Outside of crafting, Jean enjoyed to shop, and traveling. She and Mr. Burton made many memories together on the trips they took, especially Hawaii. Above all, her family was the light of her life. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grand kids and her great grandchildren. Her soft spirit, compassionate heart and lovingness will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Elmer Burton; and her brother, Franklin Williams.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Cindy) West, Carla (Chuck) Tollison, and Cheryl West; grandchildren, Michael (Kaleigh) West, Amanda (Benjamin) Wireman, Josh (Ally) West, Rodney Queen, Lesley Queen, Sharon (Kevin) Kendall, Heather (Trevor) Bland, Justin (Christy) Black; great grandchildren, Matthew, Kylee, Logan, Mara, Noah, Hayden, Annestin, Taylor, Easton, Maison, Levi, Luke, Lincoln, Dawson, Waylon, and Walker.
