Barbara Barton
October 9, 1944 — October 18, 2025
Barbara Jean Barton, 81, of Juliette, Georgia, entered her eternal rest on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Born in Laurens County, Georgia, on October 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary Helen Register.
A woman of quiet strength and steadfast faith, Barbara built her life around love, family, and simple joys. She was self-employed as a housekeeper, taking pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way. She lived her Baptist faith daily, through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Barbara found happiness in life's little treasures—browsing the aisles of Goodwill for hidden gems, enjoying her favorite meals at Golden Corral, and spending peaceful moments with crossword puzzles and talking on the phone with family and friends. Yet, above all, her greatest joy was her beloved grandson, Atticus Ender Barton, who filled her heart with endless love and pride.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rudolph Barton, her brother Roscoe Register, her sister Faye Mitchel, and her baby brother William Oliver.
Barbara's memory will be cherished by her son, John Barton; her brother Luther Register (Brenda); her sisters Liz Ogletree, Ann Tedder (Fred), and Debra Freeman; her treasured grandson Atticus Ender Barton; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, with Pastor Ted Tedder officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Though Barbara's hands are now at rest, the love she gave and the light she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.
