Barbara Barnes

Barbara Torbert Barnes, 66, of Lizella, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held Monday, October 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Reverends Robbie Jones, and Gary McCammon will officiate. Immediately following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Born on October 23, 1950, in Macon, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late J.A. "Bill" and Lucy Torbert, and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. She worked for the majority of her life as a Homemaker, but by trade a hairdresser. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her adoring husband, Robert W. Barnes. Three children: Andrea Barnes Stone(Mike), Michael D. Barnes (Tami), and Kelanie Barnes Stubbs (Bobby). Ten grandchildren: Michaela, Andrew, Sarah,and Matthew Stone, Caleb, Lucy, and Luke Barnes, Abigail, Aaron, and Aidan Jackson. Three sisters: Betty Averett (William), Linda Whitehead(John), Debra Tharpe (Bart).
