A.W. Simms, 86, of Macon, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Funeral services will be private.
Mr. Simms was born on November 9, 1935, in Nashville, Georgia, to the late Mr. George Washington Simms and Mrs. Emily Laura Adkins Simms. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Simms retired from Robins Air Force Base after 31 years of service, where he worked as an aircraft electrician.
Mr. Simms was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Mr. Simms is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Tyson Simms; brother, Howard George Simms; sister-in-law, Geneva Tyson; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to Heartland Hospice Services, 200 Northside Crossing, Macon, GA 31210, or to the donors favorite charity.
