Alvin Underwood

Alvin Ray Underwood, 78, of Lizella, died suddenly on January 1, 2021. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps as Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He was a proud Vietnam War Veteran, serving two tours of duty. He also retired from Robins Air Force Base after 25 years of service. He was the president and part owner of Underwood's Towing, Inc. for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl A. Underwood and his grandsons; Alexander Ray Underwood and wife Callie, Mason Underwood and Dylan Barton. Two brothers; Jimmy and Jack Underwood, and a sister; Betty Carotti.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Ray Underwood and his parents Ray and Phoebe Underwood as well as a brother; Donald Underwood.
He was a wonderful family man and was well respected by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be private and a memorial service will be held a later date.
