Allie Dunn

August 26, 1935 — March 26, 2024

Allie Frances Royal Dunn left her earthly life for her Creator on March 26, 2024. Our family matriarch has passed over. A celebration of her Christian life will be held on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at Little Union Church Cemetery; 4520 Union Church Road in Crawford County. Reverend Todd Bishop will conduct the services.

Born on August 26, 1935, at her home in rural Tift County, Georgia, she was the only child of the late Warren Lumpkin Royal and Emma Lee Pearce Royal. She spent almost her entire life in middle and South Georgia. She graduated from Tift County High School and married soon after. Frances was a loving and loyal daughter, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was primarily a homemaker, until her husband Hugh became medically disabled after which she entered the work force full time. Her favorite occupations were those helping people, as a dental assistant and subsequently as a caretaker for the residential elderly. Allie Frances was a devout Christian, baptized at an early age in a South Georgia pond. She was, like her father, a lover of gospel music and frequent listener of broadcast sermons and gospel music. She loved God and people, often putting others before herself. She was generous to charities supporting less fortunate people and animals. She did her best to follow Christ and left an inspiring example of faith and works. We enjoyed her sly and coy sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by former husband, Hugh Donald "Buddy" Dunn; and 2 adult sons, Carey David Dunn and Chris Gaylen Dunn. She gave birth to 5 boys, 4 of whom grew to adulthood. Left to cherish her memory is her 2 adult sons, C. Warren Dunn, MD (Susan) and Casey Lynn Dunn (Diana) as well as 3 former daughters-in-law, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.
