Alfred Epps

December 13, 1962 — February 28, 2025

Alfred Garland Epps, of Monroe County, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

He was born in Macon, Georgia on December 13, 1962, to the late Roy Terrell Epps, Sr and Susan Yvonne Singelton. Alfred, a man of dedication and hard work, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. A 1981 graduate of Central Fellowship, he built his painting business from the ground up, becoming self-employed and tirelessly providing for his family. Alfred's passion for his craft was evident in every stroke of the brush, but his love for his family always came first. He was a devoted fan of the Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, and cherished his mornings at the Bolingbroke Store with his friends, where they would solve world problems "one cup of coffee at a time." A natural coach, Alfred spent years guiding and mentoring his boys in T-ball and baseball, instilling in them a love for the game. He found peace in the outdoors, particularly while grilling or building a fire, and most of those he loved were fed by him at some point, a true expression of his generosity. Above all, Alfred cherished his family, holding close the moments spent together, and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and faithful wife of 43 years, Dawn Epps; sons, Matthew (Lauren) Epps and Luke (Alivia) Epps; brother, Roy Epps, Jr., (Jackie); nieces, Jennifer Epps, Erika Epps, Brooke Epps, Roy "Trey" Epps, III.,; and a granddaughter, Rylee Epps.
